30 Days of Truth #6

Tomorrow the Man and I head to Buffalo (an All-America* City!) for the weekend. Because who wouldn't want to take a mini-vacation in Buffalo when it's supposed to be rainy and in the low 50s? Crazy people, that's who.

DoT #6: Someone who has made your life worth living for
Hmm. This is worded awkwardly, and I'm pretty sure that I know what the "inventor" of 30 DoT was going for here, but...
There are many people in my life who make my existence easier, more pleasant, beautiful, and fulfilling: better. However, other than children (and I don't have any of those just yet) I don't think that any one other person can make your life worth living. I think that for my life, I am the only one who can do that. I don't think that means I love people any less; I love hard. I just think that once you start to think that other people are your reason to go on, or have that level of power over you, it's too risky. I am primarily in charge of my own happiness. Certainly other people affect my happiness because the people I choose to surround myself with are very important to me. But. I live for me right now. So, I guess the answer is ME. Is that wrong?

*What the hell? An "All-America City"? Should it not be "All-American"?? I live in Somerville, which is also an All America City. It drives me a little nuts.

Not wrong at all. I like it--I think meaning can and should be found all around us.

I'm glad I'm not the only one perplexed about the All-America thing. It bothered me every time I drove on the thruway. Have a great trip!

I have found, that when you are on the very dark brink, when you can not find a single reason to continue living from within yourself, the person or persons for whom you do live, become obvious. I hope to God you never experience this.

I have never understood the All-America thing. Drives me nuts.

No, that's not wrong. It makes a lot of sense!
