Briny goodness

I made Two-Day Pickles, motherfuckers!
YUM.
I got the recipe somewhere online in a forum, not from food.com or epicurious.com... I don't remember where so sadly I cannot give credit where it is due.

I wanted the deliciousness of pickles without the bother of preparing the water bath or waiting for months, listening to the Man say "Are they done YET?"

So, in case you're interested in making some...
The "pickling" (or marinating, since it;s probably not technically pickling) solution is made of:
2 cups water
1/3 cup white wine vinegar
5 peppercorns, plus about 10 turns of the pepper grinder
1 tbsp sea salt
1 tsp sugar
several snippets of fresh dill
2-3 cloves crushed garlic
6 pickling cukes (or 3-4 regular large cukes) quartered lengthwise into spears

You throw all of this stuff together in a ziploc bag or covered casserole dish for two days in the fridge, turning when you remember to, and KAPLOW!* Near-instant pickles! The nice thing about this recipe is the low effort/high yield, and the potential for customization. I think next time I'll try it with jalepenos too.

*Is KAPLOW! too much here? I also considered ZAM! and BLAMMO! Perhaps a simple voilĂ  would have sufficed...

My mommy makes awesome bread-and-butter pickles. I want to try to make hers AND yours because I LOVE PICKLES.
