This morning at 3:30am, the bad cat was making lots of noise, so I grabbed the spray bottle, got out of bed and squirted the hell out of him. I followed him to the kitchen, under the table, then all the way back to the bed. This was one wet kitty - HA! I then put the spray bottle back on the night stand, and got back into bed only to find that the cat had jumped onto my side of the bed to get away from me, soaking the spot where I sleep. Touché, motherfucker, touché. There was absolutely nothing left for me to do other than laugh my ass off. I love that crazy bastard.
This was a nice, but busy weekend. Friday I took a half day off work, which translated nicely into afternoon beers, and that transitioned into food and drinks with the Man and two of our old co-workers, which was delightful. One of my favorite things is walking home with the Man after an evening out, stopping for coffee, all tired and ready to fall asleep.
Saturday we both got up early, he for surfing, and me for yoga with A. After yoga I had a quick breakfast and headed to J's house for moving. We moved a lot of stuff and J was pretty organized so I think we made good use of time. Luckily, her new house was a mile or two away from the old one, so very little time was spent on the road. After a little rest and some pizza I made my way home, where I took a long, wonderful shower and then curled up on the couch with the cats and watched some episodes of The X Files.
Sunday morning I had breakfast with the Man early, as we were heading up to NH for his mom's birthday lunch. I wrapped an orchid and a bottle of wine for her (he didn't know what to get) and we were off by 11ish. We had a lovely lunch made by the Man's sister in law, and I did a lot of playing with their daughter, who's just gotten a garbage bag full of princess dresses. DISNEY PRINCESS DRESSES. A whole bag full. I think she wore no fewer than four of them in the 2.5 hours we were there. Disney couldn't ask for cuter advertising. Before we left it came out that the only thing the Man's mom wanted for her birthday was a teakettle, and she assumed she'd get it from one of her sons, as they'd both told her at Christmastime not to use her current one anymore (apparently her current one had melted plastic on it somewhere - yikes!). Sadly, neither of her sons remembered. The Man is going to their place to help them with some landscaping this weekend and I will remind him to pick up a teakettle before he goes. His mom certainly deserves some tea...
We left NH around 3:30 by way of the beaches in Rye to see if there was any good surfing water; there was not. It was back to Boston for us. I ironed and tidied up. I should have done laundry, but I was about 5 quarters short (oh holy hell how I hate using all those quarters for laundry). In any case, I made a small dinner and the Man and I drank some Proseco and went to sleeeeeeeeep.
I'm excited to have rehearsal tonight, and for the beautiful weather.
