Last night I picked up my friend A from the airport. She's back from an eight week trip to Togo, in Africa. She was exhausted and glad to be home. And she has malaria. She went with our other friend, J, who had malaria twice while they were there. They were both taking anti-malaria drugs, but apparently you can still get malaria despite the drugs. It seems like a terrible and exotic flu.
Leslie: So do the Africans take anti-malaria drugs?
A: Nope.
L: They just periodically get malaria?
A: Yes. If they get it, and God accepts them, they die. If He does not accept them, they live.
L: Whoa.
A: Yeah.
I'm so thankful that I live here.
