America*, I need a nap.
I've been involved in a show. A radio show version of Sleepy Hollow, which has been fun! And good! But has also made me tired! And stuff! You know, in all the normal ways you're tired when you get up, go to work, speed home, scarf food, speed to the theatre, ingest lots of caffeine, perform, speed home, kind of sleep, and then do it all again the next day and the next day. PLUS! This may come as a surprise, but an unnamed cat will not let me sleep. He's basically a dick.
Oh, and my parents will be here this afternoon. Which is nice, but for the last few days in between speeding off to different places I have been doing more vacuuming and sheets-washing and second-bedroom-preparing and Whole Foods shopping than usual. I don't want them to think that we live in a hair-covered house where every kitchen surface holds tomatoes from the garden, but the fridge contains nothing but mostly-empty containers of olives, and magazines are all over the floor to deter the cats from scratching the rug. Even though we do live in that environment, I would prefer they not think so.
So, that's all I've got. I'm looking forward to the visit with family, but I also hope that no one minds if I nod off in my glass of wine after the show tonight.
Have a great weekend you guys.
*Yes, it's a hat-tip to Bernie Mac. I liked that guy.
