Theatre-y

Last night I went out to dinner with some ladies. We went to The Cellar and dined on delicious things that included, but were not limited to:
braised short-ribs with brussels sprouts
beet and goat cheese salad
chick pea fries with aoli
something called "pig newtons" (adorable!)
some other yummy thing that I can't remember

Then we walked a few block to The Oberon in Harvard to see my friend, A, play Billy Flynn in Chicago.

There was dancing. And singing. And scantily clad extras. It was good. It's an interactive show so that dancers flit about the room having a gay old time chatting it up with the audience. I love that kind of theatre. This is why people should go to see more live shows. Also, did I mention the part about people being scantily clad? And is there anything sexier than a man who dances? That's why I feel lucky that the Man dances with me at weddings and things. It no fun for me if I'm dancing and you're just sitting there. Well, it's a little fun, but significantly less.

Then I got an email this morning saying I got cast in The Vagina Monologues. Nice! It plays in February in Harvard Square and 100% of the proceeds go to help women's charities: 10% to the women of Haiti and 90% to the thing in Boston that fights violence against women. I will get the actual name of that before the show opens...pinky swear.

EDITED TO ADD: Bacon-wrapped dates was the thing we ate that I couldn't remember! Which is weird, because they were incredible. Bacon and Dates are one of my VERY favorite couples: they're salty-sweet, crispy and soft. Mmmm.
