The days. They are slow.

Day 3 of the Raw Food thing is over and here's day 4. I ate a banana for dinner yesterday. This was partly because I didn't want to look at lettuce, and partly because after work I went to see J at her office to get some boxes for packing, and then I stopped by a little secondhand store on my way home, and the traffic was SO BAD! And when I got home I had to scramble to grab something to eat before rushing to rehearsal. Bananas are so portable. I thought they'd have food at rehearsal - sometimes at big rehearsals there are crackers and cheese (which I can't have) but also baby carrots and apple slices. But no :( not this time...

The Man came over after my rehearsal last night and we were in bed by 9:45, both exhausted. This morning I had a banana with raw almond butter and for lunch I'm thinking grapefruit and some cherry tomatoes. I CAN'T HANDLE THE EXCITEMENT! I also have some almonds and seeds for snacking. But who wants to snack on that stuff?

I'm really just looking forward to Saturday night, when I'll take my Man to Henrietta's Kitchen in Harvard. For his 35th birthday, I will splurge on food and wine and coffee OH MY!

After that I'm not sure to what extent I'll keep doing this. I'd like to stay off off processed foods for as long as possible. What's nice about the restaurant is that it's high-end and also one of those places dedicated to buying local organic food, so at least the ingredients and preparation are fantastic. Even if everything is cooked with salt and butter and is anyone else hot in here?

Until then, I dream of carbs and coffee...

While I admire your raw food cleanse, I am worried about your sanity. I mean, please woman. Who voluntarily gives up coffee and cheese?

I'll be thinking of you around dinner time Saturday night!!
