Slushy wonderland

This is what it looks like when I walk down my block. It's pretty, just not awesome to walk in. That's why this perspective is from me walking down the middle of the street. Some people, like my landlord, prefer to not do anything about the snow. The walk and driveway are already icy-death-slicks and the sidewalks aren't much better. Weee! Just over three weeks until we change the clocks!

Anyway, update: Monday night I went out to dinner with my bro. After I got a new battery for my car he came over and we walked into to Davis Square for dinner at Sagra. I had the baked cod special and he had the filet. Delicious! It went beautifully with the flight of red wine and chocolate cheesecake. It's great that I can spend some time with him while he's working here, as the last several years we've been pretty far away from each other.
I also knitted a hat and sewed a bag on Monday. Because that's what President's Day is all about. Um, me... being productive, yo!

Last night on the way home from work (and this morning on the way in) I decided that when I am in charge, I will make it my business to ensure that everyone - driver or pedestrian - that does stupid stuff in traffic (like run a red light) in this weather, gets punched in the face. By me. Twice. GAD! It's like Massholes are less careful when the weather sucks.

Last night I was planning to pick my Man up from the airport, as he was returning from St. Louis. He was supposed to land at 11pm, but since there was so much crappy weather, he called to tell me they were delayed until 1am. Then after 3am. I was still cool with picking him up, because that's just what I do. So when he texted at 3:30 to let me know he had landed, I was dressed and grabbing my keys about 5 minutes later.

via text:

Les: On my way.
M: Wait, I'll get a cab.
Les: Really? because I'm dressed and on my way out the door.
M: Nope, there's a cab right here, I'll get there faster.
Les: Ok, getting undressed.
M: Be there in 10 minutes.

So, he arrived at my apartment about fifteen minutes later, brushed his teeth, disrobed, and came to bed. He came to my place - not his place. And why aren't we living together yet?

Anyway, his Dad recently had heart surgery, so he'll probably be headed to see his parents tonight, and tomorrow is the show again, so I'll be lonely for the next few nights. I am happy he's back in town though...

I hope you have a warm day. I need some coffee.
