I think my belly is still full

Last night I ate five animals.

Dude, I KNOW. It doesn't exactly mesh with my eat-less-meat attitude, and I'm not really sure how it happened. And I didn't eat five WHOLE animals, but still. I went out to Ten Tables in Cambridge with J, M, and I. We were celebrating September birthdays (for I and me). We split some appetizers and had delicious meals and talked and laughed and it all happened so fast.

So, for your review:
There was poached tuna.
And rabbit terrine.
I had a slice of J's flank steak.
And a bite of I's roasted chicken.
Also, my very own pork chop.

GAH! It was a meaty meaty meat fest. Then J insisted that we have dessert and coffee and I complied because I defer to authority. Luckily there was no meat in the cobbler, or the delicious french press coffee. I think.

I always forget (and then I always write about it here as if it's some kind of revelation) how delightful it is to just spend time with my lady friends. After I come home and get myself all horizontal, I think back to when I NEVER went out and I had very few good friends and I fall asleep happy to be here. And then a little while later I wake up because there's a cat on my throat.

Happy Friday. This weekend I'm going to try to be as productive as all get-out.

Not cooking meat at home makes sense. Abstaining from meat at a fine restaurant? That's just madness.
