Ranunculus is a fun word

Yesterday I went to Whole Foods after work to pick up a few things: fruit, vegetables, meat. I try to be especially careful about where I buy my meat after watching Food, Inc. I also don't eat a lot of meat so when I do I want it to be delicious.

I picked up these flowers* because they're so vibrant and lovely. These are certainly among my favorites because of their tight buds with tons of petals.

One flower had become be-headed so it got its own bowl:

I have also discovered that though I've been saying for years that I have bad knees, I now officially have consistently bad knees. I'm sure that the caps are going to slip off entirely one day, leaving me gimpy and vulnerable. Add this to my chronic back pain and uber-sensitive teeth and I'm about ready to pack up and live in the old-folks home.

It's too bad... Because I really don't like pudding...

*What's the plural of ranunculus? Ranunculuses? Ranunculi? Spell check is no help here...

I'll save you a rocker in Billy Bob's Geezer Shack next to me. (Remind me to tell you the whole story behind that some time... there's also Joe Bob's Whacko Hut, next door.)
