I'm getting there - in the apartment. Over the weekend the Man and I built some Ikea things and I made space for them. This bookcase in the background is one such item. Also the new kitchen table in the foreground to take the place the old larger one. I needed to downsize some furniture to feel comfortable. And unbelievably I did not spend a TON of money. The bookcase is actually pretty great as it's so big but doesn't swallow the room. I was planning to get two but only ended up with one for my DVDs. My books are still on the floor since books aren't as important as movies*.

This is the orange chair I was so thrilled to get at a yard sale a few weeks ago. It didn't fit in the living room but it's pretty great in the bedroom. Full disclosure: it was not 5:43 when I took that picture; the clock is broken.

Last night I had a tech rehearsal (as I will every day this week since the show opens on Friday). I came home and looked at the cats who just wanted to go outside. So, I let them out and I went to bed. I was lying back-down, with my head on the middle pillow. I probably nodded off at about 11:30 and I woke up in the EXACT same position at 4:56. I had, to my knowledge, no dreams, and I didn't seem to move at all.
Ahhhhh. At that point I considered the night a win and I let the cats back in and fed them. Then I got some water and went back to sleep until just after 6am. THIS is why I moved. For sleep. Sleeeeeeeeeeep.
The show is going well. I cordially invite all of you to come and see it :) I am a serious, if a bit hammy Hamlet. My Ophelia wears an absurd long and curly white-blonde wig. Our Gertrude is a drunk and our ghost makes "Oooooooooohhhhhhhooooooaaaaaahhhhhhh!" noises. You'll love it!
My brother sent me a link to an article that says "they've" found
King Arthur's round table. Pretty cool, huh? I was under the impression that most of that was fiction (what with the lady of the lake** and all...). But still. Historical myths are important to a country and who am I to judge. Rock on, knights!
*Calm down I don't really think this. The reason I didn't get two of these is because my Man said that he had a good time restoring some of the trash items that I'd found and maybe we should look for a bookcase (or whatever) and do it together. Who can say no to such a good offer? Togetherness + productivity = nerdy love.
**"Strange women lying in ponds, distributing swords is no basis for a system of government. If I went around saying I was emperor just because some watery tart lugged a scimitar at me, they'd put me away!"
EDITED TO ADD: Oh yeah - there's cardboard on the new rug because Conan keeps scratching it and I need to gt something to spray on it that isn't poison but does make him stop. Cardboard is so classy.
