Tastes like summer

Oh, I admit it. I am in L-O-V-E. I never thought it could happen, because I hate regular gin. But people...
Have you met Hendricks? He is so delicious. He tastes of citrus and cucumber and the summer sun and beach time. Also, the bottle is so beautiful.*
A while ago, I saw on Dooce that she posted the perfect Hendricks gin and tonic and I thought I'd try it. It's 4 jiggers of Hendricks, the juice of two limes, the rind of 2 limes all mashed together and served over ice, topped with tonic.
When we had our first sips last night, the Man said: "It tastes like summer".
Yes. Yes it does. Thank you Dooce.

So, I am officially moving. Luckily I'll be about the same distance from the T and my beloved Davis Square as I am now, just in a different direction. What's sad is I'll be less conveniently located to the Man and a few friends, but I just need a bike to close that gap. I'm excitedly planning where I'll put all of my stuff (much of it will go into the basement since my place is, like my last one, quite teeny. Oh well, less to heat in the winter... And I've become very portable with all of my downsizing. I am NOT looking forward to the actual moving process, but I am looking forward to having a little yard and letting the cats frolic in it. You'll notice how I am skirting the issue of living with the Man. Yeah... that's not happening right now. So, we'll just shelve that because frankly there are no more tears left in the world for me to cry and perhaps if this new place works out and I can actually get some sleep I will be less of a crazy person. It might just take some pressure off of the situation for both of us and make decisions easier. Or, this could just be where I end up living, period.**

Something that I AM really looking forward to is picking up the good doctor tomorrow night. Weeeee! Fun times in Boston with Dr. Monkey!! We'll no doubt get a little drunk at the Top of the Hub and have a very special Monkey Wine Club and eat wonderful foods. Oh, the fun we'll have!!

*I brought this bottle home yesterday from Kappy's Discount Liquor Mart and put it on the kitchen table. As I was doing calculus problems with my right hand and drawing a perfect replica of Guernica with my right***, I heard a POP!-thump-thump from the kitchen. I went in to investigate (as both of the cats were with me, lying lazily on the floor and couldn't have been the cause), and the cork had popped out of the bottle and fallen on the floor. It was DARING me to drink it. And I don't shy away from a challenge!****
**If you end a sentence with the word "period" for emphasis as I have, why do you even need to have a period (.) after that? Redundant much?
***Ok, I was eating cherries and watching old episodes of Tru Calling.
****As a matter of fact, I frequently shy away from challenges. Like if it's cold out, or I have to eat something blue, or it has anything to do with some hair that's no longer attached to someone's body. Those are just some examples...

Seriously?! The bottle opened itself?! That's awesome and yes, obviously it's a sign that one must drink immediately. It sort of reminds me of when J would be studying quietly in her room and then, somehow, through no action of her own, she would be in the party with an open beer in her hand. How are you gonna say no to that?!
