Long-lasting

This is (not an awesome picture of) the fourth series of blooms I've had from this orchid. My Man gave it to me last May for my performance in The Winter's Tale. He doesn't like giving cut flowers, so he gave me a whole plant. I had (lots of serious) doubts that I could keep it thriving, but it's lost it's flowers and re-flowered four times already.

It's lovely.

Thanks, baby*. I love it.**

I have a little plant corner in my kitchen where all my plants live (and sometimes die). It may be my favorite corner in my place. This is the most colorful thing I've got, and I'm so grateful that it keeps flowering despite my incompetence with plants.

*If he read this blog, this "thank you" might be more useful.

**And I love him.

EDITED TO ADD: I didn't intend for the shot to end up this way, but there's this adorable IKEA tray behind those flowers that has all of these multi-colored birds on it and it looks like one is getting ready to take a bite out of my orchid. STAY AWAY, CRAZY BIRD!

It is gorgeous. I, too, have a large plant that T gave me two Valentine's Days ago because, as he said, "Flowers die". She hasn't flowered again yet, but she will. I have named her Gloria.
